Maruti SX4 Diesel Review and Specifications

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is the topmost car maker of India. It is planning to launch Maruti SX4 Diesel version. The petrol version of this car has got a decent response from Indian customers. The company is expected that the diesel version of SX4 will perform better than petrol version. It was first showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2010 along with Maruti Echo. It is expected to compete against Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Etios, Honda Civic and other similar sedans. The company has got very good reputation in the public. So, Auto experts are saying this will be decent hit for the company.

Interior- Compare to petrol version of it the Company has made some changes. The upcoming diesel version of SX4 comes with dual tone dashboard looks awesome. The interior is well decorated by lights. The steering has got rough grip with tilt option. It gives enough space for all passengers. Head and leg room is good but compare to other similar cars in the market it looks tedious. It has several interior features like front and rear power windows, rear defogger, single zone AC and climate control, ashtray and cigarette lighter, glass antenna for clear reception, day/night rear view mirror, passenger vanity mirror, driver ticket holder, three assist grips, front door trim pockets, etc.

Exterior- it is a sedan. It does not have much changes compare to the petrol version everything remains same. Customers expected that the company will make some changes. The A pillar of the car looks unique. The head and fog lamps are well designed. It adds sporty look for the car. The emblem of the company right at the center on bonnet looks aggressive. The body colored mirrors and bumpers adds much beauty for the car. It has nice ground clearance which makes you to feel comfort even in worst roads. Overall it an average car compare to other similar sedans in India.

Engine- According to the official reports of MSIL it will be equipped with 1.6 liter diesel engine, 16 valves, DOHC, VVT power-train. It will have a capacity to generate utmost power of 104.68 Ps at 5600 rpm and produces a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4100 rpm. It comes with 5 speed manual gearbox and 4 speed automatic transmissions. The company has incorporated the advanced technology like VVT which gives more power for the car. Overall it comes in two engine options it depends on your budget which one to buy.

Safety- The upcoming Maruti SX4 is expected to loaded with advance safety features like 3 point rear seat belts and 2 point lap belt, height adjustable front seat belts, Airbags for driver and passengers, Child lock, side impact protection beam, front door lock canceler, ABS/EBD, 3 point front seat belt pretensioners and force limiters, front and rear fog lamps.

The company has recently declared to launch Maruti SX4 on 17th February 2011. However it has not mentioned the price tag of the sedan but expected to be priced at 8 to 9 lakhs in Indian market

Dodge Used Cars - The Viper

Dodge used cars like the Viper was introduced to the North American public back in 1989. The Chrysler Motor Corporation unveiled the pro-type at the Detroit Motor show with such huge success, that the company decide to go ahead with the brand. The first Dodge Viper came on the scene of American streets in 1991 and has been a fixture on the roads ever since. I decided to research Dodge Vipers that were from 1991 to the early 2000's. This actually is one of my most favourite sports cars because of the mean looking design and the power it posses.

If there is any weakness to the Viper it has to be its interior design, it's very plain. The leather seats and steering wheel look great and when you sit in one, you know this car can move. My issues are with the engine instruments and the center console, it lacks in sports car design. It's not like a Corvette at night time, where you feel you're in a fighter jet all lit up. The Viper from these years comes standard with AM/FM stereo, Air/Heating, and CD player depending on year.

I could only find two fuel economy statistics for the Dodge Viper. The first one goes back to 1994 and had a fuel rating of, 17.6-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 9.7-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. The second fuel statistic comes from the year 2002 and this had a fuel rating of, 20.9-litre, per 100km for city driving and 10.5-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. So after looking at these fuel ratings you're not exactly driving a hybrid, so expect to pay a lot at the gas pump.

The Vipers engine sizes vary depending on the year. The first version in 1991 had a V10, V8, 400 horsepower engine, with 450 pounds, per feet, of torque. Then in 1996 they increased the horsepower to 420, with 480 pounds, per feet, of torque. In 1997 it increased the engine up to 30 horsepower, giving it 450 and had 490 pounds, per feet, of torque.

Let's talk about the pros and cons of buying a used Dodge Viper:
1- There are issues with the clutch wearing down to easy.
2- There are problems with resting your hand on the six-speed shifter, it tends to screw up the transmission and leads to problems staying in gear.
3- There are no crash test results from two leading automotive organization who handle these tests.

Even though Dodge used cars like the Viper are expensive, if you have the money and you want a fast, mean sports car, the Viper is for you.

Toyota Etios Liva Review and Specifications

Toyota Etios Liva is an upcoming car and first hatchback of Toyota India. It was unveiled in 2010 at Auto Expo India. It will go for sale by the last week of March 2011 in India. The company is also planning to launch it in Russia, South America and other popular markets as well. Honda India is planning to launch its small car Honda Brio in 2011. So these two models will fight each other. It will also give strong competition for Hyundai i10, Maruti Swift, Chevy Beat and upcoming Maruti Cervo.

Well speaking on its inside features, it is a five seater with wide dashing board. It looks astounding with twin tone color. It has several common interior features like Steering mounted audio controls, Rear wiper/washer, AC, power windows, power steering with adjustment; remote central locking and Dash integrated music system. It will give sufficient space for all passengers. Head and leg room is good. It disappoints you when it comes to luggage part where you need to compromise on it. It gives only little amount of space to carry your luggage. Other than this everything is extraordinary.

The forthcoming hatchback is expected to equip with a powerful 1.2 petrol engine with 4 valves. It will be able to generate maximum power of 80bhp and torque is yet to be declared. The weight of the car (890 kg) helps to drive easily. The company has not released any statements on engine part.

When it comes to safety features, it is expected to equip with some advance safety features like Climate Control, Remote Boot, Remote Central Locking, Power Windows, Remote Fuel Filler, Rear Wiper, Rear Armrest, ABS, ESP, and three Rear Seat Belts.

The company is popular for its unique exterior style. In the front side 'U' shaped grill with company's insignia looks sweet. Unique shape of head lamps along with common type of fog lamps adds beauty for its front fascia. It has an overall length of 3775mm, 1695mm of width, 1490mm of height and 173mm of ground clearance. The beefy shoulder line on its body looks awesome. From rear side it looks sporty with rear washer. Compare to upcoming hatchback Honda Brio and Maruti Cervo it looks little cloudy. Overall it seems good.

Its price will start from 4.5 lakh and goes up to 6 lakh. Its mileage will be close to 15 km per liter. The Company is planning to launch it in 3 versions but only petrol version.
